SEN stands for Special Educational Needs. It refers to children and young people who need additional support in their learning or development compared to others of the same age.
SEN means Special Educational Needs, while SEND means Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. In practice, both terms are often used, but “SEND” is the broader definition as it includes children and young people with disabilities as well as those with additional learning needs.
