Our Qualification

At SEN Swimming UK, we are currently developing a nationally recognised qualification that will give swimming teachers the knowledge and confidence to deliver safe, inclusive, and effective lessons for children with Special Educational Needs.

-
On average, the UK sees 636 water-related deaths per year.
-
Formal swimming lessons can reduce drowning risk by up to 88% for young children.

Our Impact
-
Safer swimming - teachers will be trained to understand and adapt to each child’s specific needs, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.

-
Improved physical and emotional wellbeing - swimming helps develop strength, coordination, and motor skills - and in a supportive setting, also builds confidence and a sense of belonging.

-
Inclusive access for all - no child should be excluded. Our aim is to ensure every child with SEN can learn to swim safely, enjoy the water, and benefit from its physical and emotional rewards.
